My book of Prince essays, Prince and Little Weird Black Boy Gods, comes out in print next week (November 6). One of the items in it is a proposed (largely) R&B album of work by other musicians that likely wouldn’t exist without his influence. Now that he’s no longer with us much of his catalog has become legally available online, and I was able to make a YouTube playlist of that dream project to celebrate the release of the book, but more, to celebrate the legacy of this phenomenal and unique musician.
